At Curio, product purity is non-negotiable. We implement rigorous testing and transparent practices at every stage:
· Laboratory analysis: Every batch of oil, honey, spice or grain is chemically tested. For oils, we run GC–MS or FTIR spectrometry to detect adulterants. Our cold-pressed oils show 0% trans fats[22] (unlike refined oils), confirming no mixing with cheap oils. Honey is checked with pollen analysis and refractive index to ensure no sugar syrups were added.
· Traceability: We document each farmer and lot. A mobile app records farm coordinates, harvest date, and COA (certificate of analysis) for the product. This chain-of-custody guarantees that what’s in the bottle came only from that source. If any sample fails purity tests, we isolate that single lot and work with the village to identify issues.
· Certifications and standards: We work with FSSAI-accredited labs in India for tests (e.g. ash content in spices, HPLC for herb markers). Our organic certification audits periodically verify that no prohibited inputs were used on the farms.
· Transparency to consumer: Finally, we communicate purity. Digital QR codes on packaging let customers see lab results and origin. Studies show consumers increasingly trust brands that share such information – “transparency improvements may be used to build trust and support authentic label claims”[23].
Through this combination of old-school vigilance (on-site inspections) and modern analytics, Curio ensures zero adulteration in products – a critical factor for safety and premium positioning.
